Guest Speaker on Clinical Trials, 6.30 p.m., Tuesday 6 November at Krebsliga Basel

Our third guest speaker this year will be Annika Mills,  who will speak on the subject of clinical trials.
Annika moved to Switzerland from the UK in 2009, where she was working with patients in the Cancer Clinical Trials Unit of a busy NHS hospital in London. She started working in clinical research upon graduating, and has held a number of roles in clinical trial management since then.  Currently she is involved in coordinating the analysis of biological samples derived from patients participating in trials for a Swiss pharmaceuticals company. Her talk will address such questions as why and how trials are conducted, where they take place, how people are selected and why trials are important for both patients and industry. Also included will be some critical discussion on the realities of participating in a trial, based on Annika’s observations and experience working in the field.
The talk, which will be at the Krebsliga meeting rooms on Mittlere Strasse 35 in Basel, starts at 6.30 p.m. and will run till approximately 8 p.m. There will be an opportunity to put your questions to Annika duriing and after the meeting.
As ever with guest speaker events, we welcome anyone who is interested in attending, not only members of Cancer Support Basel. There is no charge, but it would be helpful if you would send us a mail on cancersupportbasel@gmail.com to let us know you plan to attend.
